Hi there! I’m Steve Hopwood, a double amputee passionate about sharing my journey with others in a frank but light-hearted way.
My story starts with a motorcycle accident that turned my world upside down, leading not only to the loss of my right arm and right leg but also to despair and questions about the rest of my life. But instead of letting it slow me down, I discovered new ways to approach life with humour, resilience, and a whole lot of heart.
I like connecting with people and opening their eyes to what it’s really like navigating daily life as an amputee—both physically and psychologically. I share practical tips and honest insights for anyone supporting or working with someone facing limb loss. From overcoming everyday hurdles to staying positive in the face of adversity, I keep it real and relatable—no stuffy lectures here.
Above all, I believe in respect, understanding, and lending a helping hand where it counts. Through my talks, I aim to inspire audiences to look beyond the disability and see the person behind it.
